About Werners Oven
Werner’s Oven was born out of passion in 1988 by Werner Hochbaum and his wife Nancy. It began with a much needed little German Bakery on the ground floor of Parkway Builder's Centre.
Three years later, Werner's Oven moved to a bigger location at Simpang Bedok. It was here that a Cafe serving their now famous German Sausages and Ox-Tail Stew was added to the bakery. Werner's then moved to 6 Upper East Coast Road in 1997 to be nearer their customers. This location boasted an even bigger Bakery and a full scale German Restaurant. Several items were added to the menu and very quickly one of which was the Crispy German Pork Knuckles that became another signature dish. There was also a bar serving famous German beer and wine. In December 2013, Werner’s Oven relocated to 49/51 Joo Chiat Place and continues operating as a German Bakery and Restaurant.
The tradition of using the best and the right ingredients, much of which are from Germany and using tradition German methods of baking and cooking began from the day they started in 1988 and remains to this day.
